Trail Blazers 111, Nuggets 102: Post-Game Notes

    • Tonight marks the 162nd consecutive sellout at the Rose Garden (including regular season and playoffs), dating back to Dec. 21, 2007.

    • With the win tonight the home team has now won eight consecutive games in the series between Denver and Portland.

    • With a game-high 25 points Wesley Matthews became the third different player to lead the Trail Blazers in scoring in their three wins this season.

    • Jamal Crawford record 10 consecutive Trail Blazers points in the 4th quarter. 14 of 28 Portland points in the quarter. Crawford shot a perfect 9-for-9 from the charity stripe.

    • Three Trail Blazers scored all 28 4th quarter points for Portland: Crawford (14), Felton (9), Matthews (5).

    • After going 0-for-3 in the first half, Wesley Matthews shot 5-for-5 on 3-point attempts in the 2nd half. Matthews set a franchise record for 3-pointers made in a half last season with seven 1/7/11 at Minnesota.

    • Nicolas Batum’s four blocked shots in the first half alone tied his career high (@ Tor 2/11/11). Portland held a 9-2 advantage in the blocked shots category.

    • After giving up the game’s first points the Trail Blazers responded with an 8-0 scoring run.

    • It took Denver 3:04 to record their first rebound of the game. Portland opened the game leading Denver in rebounding by a 10-1 margin. Portland outrebounded Denver by a margin of 50-30.

    • The Trail Blazers outrebounded the Nuggets by 19-6 in the first quarter, Portland held a 50-30 edge on the night.

    • Portland had scoring runs of eight and 11 points in the first quarter.

    • In the previous two games the Trail Blazers averaged 11 turnovers, tonight Portland had exceeded that giveaways by half time (14).  The Trail Blazers turned the ball over 25 times total, their highest amount  since 10/27/09 in the season opener against Houston.

    • Before Nicolas Batum’s late 2nd quarter three the two teams shot a combined 0-for-16 from the 3-point line.  The two teams combined to shoot 1-for-20 in the first half.

    • Marcus Camby led the Trail Blazers in rebounding (12) for the third consecutive game, all Portland wins.

    • Gerald Wallace recorded double figure scoring in his 14th consecutive regular season contest.

    • Tied with LaMarcus Aldridge for a team-high six assists, Raymond Felton has led or tied for the team-lead in assists in all three games this season.

    • Jamal Crawford (22), Raymond Felton (21), and Kurt Thomas (7) all posted their highest point totals in a Trail Blazers uniform.

    • Portland shot 1-for-10 from 3-point range in the first half and shot 7-for-10 from downtown in the 2nd half.

    • The win marks the first time in franchise history the Trail Blazers have started consecutive seasons 3-0.

    • Denver point guard Ty Lawson set a new career high with eight steals in tonight’s contest, tied for the most steals ever against the Trail Blazers in a regulation game. Darwin Cook recorded nine steals for the Nets against Portland in an overtime game on 12/3/83.
