Trail Blazers: 2011 Mock Draft Database

    Trailblazers.tv: Video: Pre-Drat Workouts

Trail Blazers: Brandon Roy: ‘That Doesn’t Mean I Have To Quit Because I’m Not Gonna Be The Old Brandon Roy’
“I’m gonna go back and watch some old games, but more importantly talk to our coaches and see like ‘Coach, where was I good? Where was I not so strong? And with how my body is now what positions on the court do you want me to work at to be able to help this team?’” Roy said. “Watching film and at the same time having conversations and getting come constructive criticism but getting all those things and also talking to friends and seeing how I can get better.”

Trail Blazers: ESPN: Faried Could Be Kersey
"A player like Mercy, Mercy Jerome Kersey would be well worth taking with a lottery pick, especially in this draft. Of course that would mean the Trail Blazers would have to move up if they wanted to add Faried to the depth chart, and there's no telling if that kind of move would be cost feasible."

Trail Blazers: Staying Up On The Sleepers
"One thing is for sure: the Trail Blazers won't be sleeping on any of the 15 players Spears lists as under the radar-type guys. Of the players on Spears' list, six have worked out at the practice facility. There's at least one other guy on the list who is on Spears' list who cancelled his workout and there are a few others, such as Thompson, who probably declined to come out to Portland due to the assumption that they'll be selected before the 21st pick."

Oregon Live: As Trail Blazers prepare for NBA draft, conditions favor a trade
"We're trying to make that next step in the playoffs and adding a rookie into an important position on your team, that's always a risk," Buchanan said. "Now, long-term, it can be beneficial. But we fell like we're close to being a team that can make a fairly deep run in the playoffs and we want to make sure whatever we're adding is going to help us do that."

Oregon Live: Should The Blazers Draft Justin Harper?
"While the practice of evaluating international prospects with size and skill is an annual practice among NBA scouts, rare is the American college player that presents this kind of package at the high level that the Richmond senior does. While he certainly isn't on the same level as Kevin Durant, it's easy to make the argument that no college player has so closely resembled the current NBA star since he left the University of Texas four years ago."

    CBS: NBA Draft Buzz
"Faried also is on the Trail Blazers’ wish list at No. 21, but the Blazers also are said to be high on Marshon Brooks."

Blazersedge: Portland Trail Blazers Draft Possibilities: All the Rest from Biyombo to Singler
"Besides having the best name in the last several drafts hands down (maybe the best name EVER...it sounds like a sweet musical group or maybe an awesome moped-scooter) Bismack Biyombo's main asset is being so athletically freaky he'd make Rick James blush. He is the bowling ball--an extremely buffed and cut bowling ball--and everybody else is the pins. He can rebound, block shots, and (largely thanks to his 7'6"+ wingspan) even defend. Your grandmother has a better offensive game. Most 7th graders possess more bankable moves. Go to the store, buy a thick, juicy roast, then cook it with a Bic Lighter. That's how raw he is. Yet he's still making an impact. That rawness is his limitation and his great hope."

Ball Don't Lie: Video: Ricky Rubio arrives in Minnesota
"Rubio's career will ultimately see his reputation decided on the court rather than in terms of his tabloid appeal. But his high-profile arrival in Minneapolis stands as a reminder that, no matter what he does for Minnesota, he's an exciting presence in the league that fans have been awaiting for a long time. Even if he's a bust, he'll make the Wolves a relevant team in NBA discussions once again."

Ball Don't Lie: Why DeShawn Stevenson has Lincoln tattooed on his neck
"I was going to get Martin Luther King and I told Gilbert Arenas. You should never tell nobody your idea. That summer, he came back and got it. So I didn't know who to get. I got Abraham Lincoln because he freed the slaves. I just had Abraham Lincoln and, from a distance, everybody kept saying, 'Who is that?' So I put the five-dollar bill so everybody would stop asking me."

Ball Don't Lie: Dwane Casey is all but in as Toronto’s new coach. Finally
"Unless Dallas Mavericks assistant coach Dwane Casey somehow sets fire to the tablecloth in Monday night's dinner with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment minority owner Larry Tanenbaum, the Toronto Star is reporting that Casey will soon be introduced as the next head coach of the Toronto Raptors. And I have to give it up for Raptors personnel boss Bryan Colangelo in this instance. Not only did he make the correct hire, but it's another in a long line of risk-taking chances that he's spearheaded in his time running the Raptors and Phoenix Suns."

The Basketball Jones: Mavs rookie celebrates title with a neck tattoo
"Considering his entire chest looks like it’s already covered in tatts, I’d guess adding a little neck ink is no big deal. Besides, this isn’t even close to the strangest neck tattoo on the team, so this will probably go unnoticed in the Dallas locker room. Those guys get trophies tatted on them all the time like it’s nothing."

The Basketball Jones: Top 100 moments from ‘10-11 NBA: No. 70-56
"The 2010-11 NBA season is officially in the books—a season so crazy it’s easy to forget many of the wonderful things that made it so special. Luckily for you, TBJ is not in the forgetting-shit business, so I’ve come up with the list of the 100 greatest moments of the NBA year that was. Be sure to let me know what I missed as I’m sure the list of exclusions are many. It was that kind of season."

DIME: NBA Trade Rumor: Atlanta Looking Into Trading Josh Smith
"The Hawks are beginning to get a feel for trade interest around the league in forward Josh Smith. Money, and a divorce after seven up-and-down years are the reasons. "

SLAM: Mock: Iman Shumpert, No. 30
"Shumpert has split time at the point guard and off-guard positions since he was in HS at Oak Park- River Forest, and during his time in the ACC at Georgia Tech. So while he hasn’t really mastered to the finer points of either position, he’s still comfortable (and effective) with or without the ball in his hands and he can make plays and score from either position. His jumper is decent, but he has a tendency to fall in love with it (especially from mid-range) and his shot selection isn’t exactly the greatest, but all of these habits are correctable and in a system like Tom Thibodeau’s, they will most definitely be corrected. "

SLAM: Pau Gasol: ‘My Desire Is to Stay With the Lakers’
“My desire is to stay with the Lakers. I don’t have control over it but I want to stay with the Lakers for as many years as I can to be able to remain eligible for the maximum possible championships,” Gasol told reporters in the northeastern city of Alicante."

ESPN: Should the Minnesota Timberwolves trade the No. 2 pick?
"Derrick Williams has the potential to be one of the best shooters in the league -- exactly what you need to get the most out of Kevin Love, Michael Beasley and Ricky Rubio. I'd keep the pick."
