Trail Blazers: 2011 Mock Draft Database

Trail Blazers: Pre-Draft Workout Two: Meet The Participants
"Kyle Singler is a 6-8 Forward from Duke University. Singler averaged 16.9 ppg and 6.8 rebounds. He holds the Duke records for games played, consecutive games played and minutes played. He is ranked fourth in points in Duke history and was named an AP Honorable Mention All-American. He was named First Team All-ACC for the second year in his senior season."

Trail Blazers: Positioning the Blazers - Point Guard
"I see a high ceiling for Patty. He has the tools and the motivation. It's apparent that he wants to remain a Blazer (fans certainly want him here). There seems to be no indication whether the team will extend a qualifying offer; regardless, there likely will be interest in Patty from other teams once he becomes a free agent."

Trail Blazers: Mavericks Win Title, Proving “Underdog” Label Wrong
"First, the Trail Blazers put up the BEST fight against the eventual World Champions. Yes, I know the Miami Heat succumbed 4-2 as well, but in watching the series the Trail Blazers played better ball through four quarters. The entire Dallas/Miami series didn’t feel exciting until the 4th quarter. I find games more entertaining when I feel the ebbs and flows before the end. Kind of like watching an exciting movie, the plot builds and builds and builds until you get the exciting payoff."

Oregon Live: Charlotte Bobcats hire Rich Cho as general manager
"Cho is expected to be introduced Tuesday in Charlotte and will be in place for the NBA draft on June 23, where the Bobcats have three of the first 39 picks, including a first round pick acquired from Portland in a February trade for Gerald Wallace. Cho will report to owner Michael Jordan."

Oregon Live: The Greg Oden clock starts ticking for the Trail Blazers
"The Dallas Mavericks' championship victory Sunday night triggered the start of a deadline for the Blazers to tender an $8.8 million qualifying offer to the soon-to-be free agent center. The Blazers, who did not extend an offer Monday, have until June 30 to do so."

Oregon Live: NBA draft 2011: Should the Trail Blazers draft Charles Jenkins?
""Despite all of this however – factors that clearly point towards an individual who will try to make a name for himself by scoring at the next level – Jenkins has a firm understanding of his game and what will be asked of him at the pro level. 'One thing that separates me from a lot of other guys is I don't force things,' he says. 'I know I'm not going to get there and finish over a guy like Dwight Howard, but I have a pull up jump shot that I can rely on and I'm a great passer which a lot of people don't really know. People see my scoring numbers and that's really all they see, but I'm smart enough to know the ways I'm going to score there.'""

Ball Don't Lie: Some Miami Heat fans are complete sell-outs
"So why were there so many Mavericks fans at Sunday's game, most of them near Dallas' bench? Michael Lipman, whose company helps resell Heat seats, said Heat ticket holders sold 150 seats to Mavericks fans after the Mavs' premium seat department inquired. Dallas fans paid as much as $3,000 for first- and second-row seats by the Mavericks' bench in Game 6, as much as $2,000 a few rows back."

The Basketball Jones: Get your Mavericks caricature t-shirt
"The caricatures on the Mavericks version are predictably hilarious. Corey Brewer is choice, since he already looks pretty cartoonish, with that giant smile and humongous eyes. Peja Stojakovic is also funny, since his cartoon smile looks particularly devilish. Dirk looks like 1985 Biff Tannen for some reason, and J.J. Barea is drawn full-size. All in all, adidas rocked the party on this year’s caricature shirt."

The Basketball Jones: Isaiah Thomas, president of the J.J. Barea fan club
"If you’re looking for someone to root for in this draft, stick with Thomas. He’s passionate and proud with a personality that’s over-the-top in comparison to most guys going through the pre-draft circuit. He’s having fun and truly seems to recognize how much of a blessing it is to even have the opportunity to seek out his dream of being a professional basketball player."

SLAM: Mock: Reggie Jackson, No. 23
"What impresses the most is Jackson’s exponential growth as a shooter. He shot 43 percent field goal percentage and 30 percent from behind the arc as a sophomore; then improved those numbers as a junior to 50 percent from the field and a 43 percent three-point percentage. Think he spent some time in the gym? Me too."

ESPN: Steve Kerr: LeBron has work to do
"The irony to me is that LeBron is not Michael. LeBron is actually Scottie," former Bull and current television analyst Steve Kerr said Monday on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000. "He's so similar to Scottie in that defensively he was just a monster, could guard anybody, really more of a point forward than scoring guard. Scottie always loved to distribute the ball. That's really where LeBron's preference is."

ESPN: Did the Mavs' championship window open and close on the same night?
"Yes, but not just because they're old. It's because the West's guard is really changing. Between Oklahoma City, Memphis, Portland, Denver and maybe even the Clippers (yes, the Clippers), the Mavs aren't going to be able to use crafty, veteran experience to get by. Those young teams are really close, and that makes any future road tougher for anybody."
