Trail Blazers: Predraft Workout: Kenneth Faried
"Kenneth Faried considered leaving Morehead State for the NBA after a junior season in which he averaged 16.9 points and 13.0 rebounds for the Eagles. He eventually decided to head back to campus, which was probably a wise decision. In his final season as a collegiate, Faried passed future hall of famer Tim Duncan for most rebounds in the modern Division I era. The extra season also allowed him to move into second all-time in double-double behind Duncan."

Trail Blazers: Trail Blazers Fans Support NBA Finals In Force
"It started during game one. I was watching my Twitter feed and was SHOCKED at how many Trail Blazers fans were not only watching the NBA Finals, but were fully invested in the game. It was exactly like during a Trail Blazers game, but with names like Kidd and Dirk instead of LA and Crash. It felt a little like the twilight zone."

Oregon Live: NBA draft 2011: Should the Trail Blazers draft Marshon Brooks?
"Not only was he dominant in the Big East this year, he was also great in workouts. He was able to get to the rack against everyone, including Singleton (which is a feat in and of itself). Grover has been working on tweaking his shot mechanics and he's shooting the ball much better. But it's Brooks' ability to put the ball on the floor and get buckets that's notable -- even a little Kobe-esque. His lateral quickness, step-backs and aggressiveness were as impressive as anything I've seen this year."

Oregon Live: NBA High-5: 15 years later, Nate McMillan and other Sonics still feel sting from Finals loss
"You could almost say if we had won that year, the team would still be in Seattle," McMillan tells Allen. "I know we can never say for certain what would have happened, but at least that's what I believe."

Ball Don't Lie: Dallas shoots the lights out, goes up 3-2 in the NBA Finals
"LeBron James didn't drop 40 points, or remind anyone of Michael Jordan. Miami's defense faltered, at times. Several Mavericks hit shots they weren't supposed to hit. And in the initial reaction, honestly, that's all you can criticize on both ends before crediting the Dallas Mavericks to no end for earning a 3-2 lead after winning Game 5 of the NBA Finals by a 112-103 score on Thursday night. Because this was some brilliant basketball."

Ball Don't Lie: Video: Sweet ‘Sick Dirk’ impressions, Dwyane and LeBron
"It's also good that Wade and James got some yukles (yuks + chuckles) in before Game 5, since there wasn't a whole lot for them to laugh about afterward. You've got to take your opportunities where you find them. In the words of the poet, "Work like you don't need money, love like you've never been hurt and laugh like you're making fun of a sick person who's dinging you up for 27-and-9 a night."

CBS: Source: Monta trade talks 'pretty hot'
"The Trail Blazers, Lakers, and Hawks, are among the teams that made exploratory calls after word leaked that the Warriors and 76ers were discussing an Ellis-for-Andre Iguodala swap, league sources said Thursday. Ellis-for-Iguodala is a “50-50” proposition at the moment, a person with knowledge of those talks said. A third person with knowledge of the Warriors' strategy described trading Ellis as a secondary priority to the draft."

SLAM: Mock: Marshon Brooks, No. 19
"And finally, Brooks can stretch defenses with a capable three-point shot, something the Bobcats need desperately. Brooks is more of a volume three-point shooter than a Ray Allen-spot up assassin, but at Providence he still managed to shoot a very respectable 34 percent from beyond the college arc. If he maintains that accuracy out to the NBA line, defenses will have to respect that threat, making DJ Augustin much more dangerous."

The Basketball Jones: Mavericks zinging Mavericks
"Yeah, that’s the best. Not only is Dirk snapping on Terry for being a blabbermouth, he also calls him a “confident young man,” despite the fact that Jason Terry is nine months older than Dirk is. Maybe Dirk thinks he’s older because that extra year of NBA experience, but I’d prefer it if Dirk didn’t realize how old Jason Terry is because Dirk is so much bigger. That’d be great."

    ESPN: Daily Dime
"When you back up your talk, you can spread your wings. JET did. Made 8 of 12 shots en route to 21 big points, including a dagger 3-pointer with 33 seconds left, boosting the Mavs to a 3-2 series lead."
