Trail Blazers: Playoff Picture: March 22
"The Utah Jazz were defeated by the Memphis Grizzlies 85-103 in Memphis. This was a big win for Memphis, as all games from this point forward are. The Grizz are still in the 8th seed and are now a full game ahead of the Houston Rockets in 9th place. The loss for the Jazz leaves them in 11th place."

Oregon Live: NBA: Spurs lose Duncan indefinitely after he sprains left ankle
"I thought he had done real damage, like broken or fractured," McDyess said. "I was just happy to see it was just a severe sprain. I actually thought it was worse."

NBA: Memphis' Gay to miss season with shoulder surgery
"Gay has missed the past 14 games since suffering the injury on Feb. 15 against Philadelphia. The Grizzlies are 8-6 in his absence and remain in contention for a playoff spot in the Western Conference. Memphis is trying to reach the postseason for the first time since the 2005-2006 season."

NBA: Potential for greatness seems limited in point guard crop
"His talent level is several notches above the other guys," said a Western Conference general manager. "The guy comes into a program the caliber of Duke, and they give him the keys to everything from day one. Coaches would prefer to have some seniority lead the team, every single one, but (Mike) Krzyzewski realizes, 'I can't do that.' (Irving) goes into Michigan (State) and scores 31. If he doesn't get hurt, Duke could be the prohibititve favorite in this tournament."

Ball Don't Lie: The box scores from 'Space Jam' for a nostalgia kick
"For basketball fans, few cultural touchstones hold as much nostalgic pull as the 1996 comedy "Space Jam," a Michael Jordan vehicle in which His Airness joins forces with the Looney Tunes to defeat evil space villains who steal the talent of such '90s basketball luminaries as Shawn Bradley and Muggsy Bogues. It's not as good a film as the next film starring these classic characters, the cruelly underrated "Looney Tunes: Back in Action," but "Space Jam" nevertheless means a lot to anyone who grew up watching basketball 15 years ago."

Ball Don't Lie: Kyle Lowry Quietly Stepping Up In Houston
"Lowry's ascension to one of the better point guards in the NBA has been a quiet one, but he's clearly fulfilling all the promise some saw in him during his injury-abbreviated rookie season in Memphis. The powerful guard got off to a slow start this season while working his way into shape, but he's averaging 20 points, eight assists and five rebounds (while making half his shots, and working up a stellar 46 percent mark from long range) during the month of March."

    ESPN: Daily Dime
"All three Knicks-Celtics games have had a palpable playoff feel. But as the season nears the finish line, the likelihood of the first Boston-New York playoff series since 1990 is becoming more of a possibility. The surging Sixers seem poised to hold on to the sixth seed -- if not steal the fifth spot from the stumbling Atlanta Hawks -- and an equally favorable home stretch makes the Chicago Bulls' chances of landing the top seed even more likely. The Orlando Magic, meanwhile, should retain the fourth seed, which they've held for most of the season."

    DIME: Daily Fantasy Diagnosis: 3.22
"Dwight Howard posted 28 points, 18 rebounds, four assists, four steals and four blocks last night. He shot 82 percent (9-11) from the field, 83 percent (10-12) from the free-throw line and had four turnovers. With this monstrous line, Howard has amassed eight steals and nine blocks in his last two games. Though his boost in scoring has received the lion’s share of attention this season, it’s worth noting that Howard has also boosted his rebounding and thieving from last season’s marks."
