Oregon Live: X-Rays are negative on right hip of Trail Blazers star LaMarcus Aldridge, but MRI scheduled for today
"Aldridge has been battling soreness in his hip for at least a week, and had X-Rays taken about 90 minutes after the Blazers lost 96-81 to Sacramento on Monday in the Rose Garden."

Oregon Live: Blazers: How much stuff can happen in just 24 hours? Turns out a heck of a lot
"After winning his award, Aldridge laid an egg, finishing with nine points, just his fourth single-digit scoring game of the season and first since Dec. 5. He shot 4 for 14 from the field, taking the fewest shots he's attempted in 17 games. How did the Kings slow Aldridge? The Oregonian's Jason Quick reports that Kings backup center Samuel Dalembert studied film to prepare."

    Columbian: Kings upset Blazers, 96-81
“That edge, staying hungry, which we've shown here recently, it just didn't seem like we had that,” Blazers coach Nate McMillan said. “We played as if we could flip a switch here and that team got their confidence. They've played in a lot of close games and we got on our heels and just didn't have sharpness tonight.”

Rip City Project: Game 46 Recap: Kings 96, Blazers 81
"There were a few positive takeaways from Monday’s loss, and I’ll start with those. Andre Miller played a nice game, coming back from a stomach ailment that apparently landed him in the hospital. Dre scored 18 and handed out five assists. When Portland was still in the game, right at the beginning of the fourth quarter, it looked like Andre might be able to lead the charge. He blew by rookie power forward DaMarcus Cousins for a layup that cut the deficit to four with eight minutes to play, the sixth point of an eight-point burst from Miller, but in the end Andre’s play wasn’t quit enough."

Blazersedge: Game 46 Recap: Blazers 81, Kings 96
Andre Miller and Nicolas Batum kept the Blazers in the game through the first part of the fourth. Miller found himself open for mid-range jumpers. Batum hit a critical three and a couple free throws. The score was 83-79 Sacramento with 4 minutes remaining. But the Blazers' planned push for glory got swatted to heck by Samuel Delambert who came up with some nifty overall defense on LaMarcus Aldridge and a couple brutal blocks of Portland drives in the lane. Forced to the perimeter, the Blazers shot deep and against the clock or not at all because of turnovers. Meanwhile the Kings danced with the girl that brung them, feeding Evans and Udrih and letting the forwards clean up on the boards. With little margin for error the Blazers flooded the floor with them down the stretch. Sacramento skates with a 15-point victory, 96-81.

NBA: Stage set for exciting finish to season's second half
"Blazers make playoffs anyway: LaMarcus Aldridge is wrapping up a fantastic January (27 points, 10 rebounds) and the Blazers just may have enough to compensate for losses to Greg Oden, Brandon Roy and Marcus Camby. Though you Aldridge is playing heavy minutes (he's 7th in the league with 39.0 mpg), he probably won't wear down until after Portland clinches a spot. If they endure a tough March, the seventh or eight spot is theirs."

SLAM: Deron Williams Growing Increasingly Unhappy
“We’re trying to run half of a system and then half just freelance,” Williams said. “We can’t do that. We’re not the Phoenix Suns. We’re not the New York Knicks. We’re not just coming out here and playing one-on-one. But that’s what’s happening. Things are breaking down and we’re going one-on-one the last five seconds of a shot clock.”

ESPN Dallas: Dirk Nowitzki should take All-Star break
"You want to be healthy for the real games, but representing the Mavericks has always been important to me and to the fans in Dallas, so it is a little bit of both," said Nowitzki, whose ground-bound, fundamentally sound game isn't really suited for the All-Star stage anyway. "If I'm not 100 percent, then I probably shouldn't be out there."

    DIME: Daily Fantasy Diagnosis: 1.25
"Kevin Love finished with 24 points, 17 rebounds, seven assists and a three last night against the Rockets. He shot 50 percent (6-12) from the field, 100 percent (11-11) from the line and had two turnovers. Love remains a top-three fantasy beast this season and there’s no reason to expect him to slow down."

    ESPN: Daily Dime
"Although the margin of victory against Oklahoma City wasn't on par with their previous destructions of San Antonio (24 points) and Atlanta (41 points), it may be more telling about who they are as a team going forward. As easy as it is to look at the most recent stretch and say the Hornets are contenders, it's simply not correct."
