  2. ESPN: Daily Dime
  3. "Matthews scored 20 points in the victory Thursday and is averaging 21.1 points per game in nine outings as a starter. Moreover, his contributions are exactly of the variety the Blazers had been missing. He's proven a jack-of-all trades scorer who can hit 3-pointers off the catch, attack off the dribble and get out in transition -- all areas where the post-up heavy Blazers have struggled to produce points, especially with Brandon Roy's gimpiness."

  4. Oregon Live: Portland 97, Orlando 83: Andre Miller scores 22 points; Blazers extend winning streak to three games
  5. "Tired of losing," Wesley Matthews said, when asked what triggered the sudden and impressive transformation. "You ever lost seven times in a row? It's not a good feeling. We just had enough."

  6. Oregon Live: Blazers coming up: Four-game road trip should show if Portland's ship really is righted
  7. "Thursday's win, over one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, was Portland's third in a row after losing six straight. Is the Blazers' ship righted? They will find out quickly starting tonight, when they embark on a four-game road trip that includes games against two of the NBA's hottest teams."

  8. Columbian: Win-loss mark is out of red for Blazers
  9. "The Blazers quartet of Matthews, Andre Miller, LaMarcus Aldridge and Nicolas Batum kept the Blazers in the game — cutting a once 14-point deficit down to one by the end of the half. Then Portland locked down on defense and unleashed its offense."

  10. Columbian: Unlike hit on Griffin, Miller’s rant is off mark
  11. "At first I thought Miller’s retaliation was childish, that the only “message” he was sending was that personal pride trumped staying on the court. But then the late Maurice Lucas popped into my head, and I couldn’t help but think that the old Blazers “Enforcer” reached down with his massive right hand and fist bumped Miller after the collision."

  12. Portland Tribune: Miller, Matthews stir drink for Blazers
  13. “He played with a chip on his shoulder, and he had a couple of days rest,” Portland assistant coach Buck Williams said. “I’m sure that was good for his legs. He was the floor general out there. He penetrated and he finished.”

  14. Rip City Project: Game 22 Recap: Blazers 97, Magic 83
  15. "Wesley Matthews is looking more and more comfortable in a leading role. When Orlando put a nice run together late in the game, cutting a 15 point lead to ten, Wesley was key in keeping the Magic at arms length. Along with his offense, Wesley is really starting to assert himself on defense, and that’s rubbing off on his teammates. Portland played all night with active hands, leading to turnovers and steals, a few that led to easy fast break buckets. Matthews finished with 20 points. I think it’s safe to say he’s a starter for the remainder of the season."

  16. Blazersedge: Media Row Report: Blazers 97, Magic 83
  17. "I hate to continue to harp on the importance of Portland's perimeter versatility, and lean so heavily on this September post, but beating the Orlando Magic on a season-high night from Dwight Howard was the Blazers' signature win of the season, and it showed how dangerous and frustrating Portland can be for opponents when the ball moves and the assertiveness level from Portland's wings is where it needs to be."

  18. SLAM: Jared Sullinger Sets Record With 40 Points
  19. "A day after learning that Kyrie Irving might miss the rest of the season it didn’t take long for another freshman to grab the spotlight he had left. Jared Sullinger terrorized the IUPUI front line for 40 points and 13 rebounds. The 40 points were an Ohio State freshman record."

  20. SLAM: Rookie Report: Week 6
  21. "Griffin is arguably the most NBA-ready big man in recent history. His foundation is a lethal drop-step and trampoline hops, and with some development (i.e. a 15-20 foot face-up game,), opposing teams will have serious trouble defending him. He leads the rookies in scoring and rebounding, and ranks 2nd in the league with 16 double-doubles. He gets to the hole at will, as he ranks 2nd among all power forwards in free-throw attempts per game (7.8). Although the Clippers have only five wins, the emerging Eric Gordon-Blake Griffin tandem shouldn’t be overlooked. They’re not winning, but the once shameful Clippers have transformed into a nightly highlight factory."

  22. DIME: Daily Fantasy Diagnosis: 12.10
  23. "Nicolas Batum: 15 Pts, 10 Reb, 3 Ast, 1 Stl, 1 TO; He seems to be getting more comfortable with his bench role, though his upside is clearly limited. Batum is still worth owning in most leagues, but probably not worth starting unless Roy sits out."
