  2. Oregon Live: Blazers: Maurice Lucas, Arvydas Sabonis, Maurice Cheeks nominated for Basketball Hall of Fame?
  3. "Sabonis played seven seasons with the Blazers, but was 31 and past his prime when he joined the team. Still, he was big fan favorite who enthralled fans with passing and shooting skills that belied his 7-foot-3 size."

  4. Oregon Live: Philadelphia 88, Portland 79: Skidding Blazers run into the ditch
  5. "Right now, we're tying to figure out what's going on," LaMarcus Aldridge said. "And we better figure it out quick before this season gets ugly."

  6. Columbian: Once again, Blazers fail to finish off opponent
  7. “We limited him to jump shots,” Brand said. “He was in the post a lot (in the first half), getting tip-ins, rebounds and alley oops. We made him shoot jump shots. He’s a capable jump shooter also, but it wasn’t the easy shots he got in the first half.”

  8. Portland Tribune: Same old story: Fourth quarter sinks Blazers
  9. "Wesley Matthews scored 26 points and LaMarcus Aldridge collected 20 points and 12 rebounds for the Blazers, who made only 4 of 20 shots in the fourth quarter. Brandon Roy finished with 10 points on 3-of-9 shooting and had two rebounds and no assists in 33 minutes."

  10. Rip City Project: Game 17 Recap: 76ers 88, Blazers 79
  11. "Playing with one center is absolutely killing the Blazers. In the first quarter the 76ers weren’t going to the hoop, and although they were hitting their jump shots, it looked like Portland was going to be able to control the game. Marcus Camby had to leave the game, which happens because he can’t play 48 minutes a game, and the 76ers started attacking the basket. Of course it wasn’t poor defense that did the Blazers in, but late in the game the confidence the 76ers had built on offense from their earlier easy forays to the hoop helped to put the home team over the top."

  12. Blazersedge: Game 17 Recap: Trail Blazers 79, 76'ers 88
  13. "This team doesn't have its head on straight. At this point they're expecting to lose as soon as they get under any kind of pressure. Somebody has to step up and instill some confidence in them, taking his teammates on his back and carrying them. Maybe that's Brandon Roy. If not, the field is wide open for other candidates."

  14. Sports Illustrated: Blazers’ struggles shake up West playoff race
  15. "The Blazers were an average defensive team in those two seasons, and they remain one this season. The offense, though, has fallen apart, a collapse that has accelerated since Roy limped off the floor during the third quarter of Portland’s blowout loss at New Orleans on Nov. 13. Reports surfaced later that night that neither of Roy’s knees has much (if any) cartilage left, meaning his bones are rubbing against each other. Since then, the team’s offense has produced at a league-average rate just twice in seven games and has come in far below that level in several of the other five games, according to Hoopdata."

  16. Ball Don't Lie: Video: Dwight Howard zings Derek Anderson
  17. "Of course, when one does something stupid, they still mock that person. Case in point: the video above, in which Dwight Howard relentlessly mocks Arizona Cardinals quarterback Derek Anderson's ridiculous tirade after Monday's loss to the 49ers."

  18. SLAM: Poor Attendance Jeopardizing Hornets’ Future in New Orleans?
  19. "The Hornets have only enjoyed a single sellout at home this season so far (and are playing before much bigger crowds on the road), and they’re facing some economic pressures when it comes to attendance once again, leading to speculation about the franchise’s future in the Big Easy. The Times-Picayune reports: “If the Hornets do not average crowds of at least 14,213 for the next 13 games at the New Orleans Arena, the franchise can opt out of its current lease agreement with the state, according to Doug Thornton, vice president of SMG, the company that manages the Arena and the Superdome."

  20. ESPN: Awards Watch
  21. "Williams is still clinging to the top spot based on New Orleans' suffocating defense and the fact that the Hornets have been one of the league's pleasant surprises so far. Gregg Popovich is closing in quickly, however."

  22. ESPN: Daily Dime
  23. "I remember when we interviewed [Henry] in Chicago," Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins said, "and I went away saying, 'That's Shane Battier all over again.' He's poised, he's mature [and] he understands the big picture of what's going on. That's what you like to see in all your players coming into the league."

  24. Oregon Live: NBA High-5: Just what Blazers needed -- Celtics are playing great basketball on both ends
  25. "The Celtics have a reputation as a great defensive team, but what's scary about this season's version is how good they've been on offense. On Tuesday, while the Blazers looked utterly lost late trying to score in Philadelphia, Boston carved up Cleveland in a 106-87 victory, and you had to admire just how efficiently the Celtics scored."
